EFA Update part 2 – Knowsley EFA hub – Headstart

In January 2015 the EFA team were invited to deliver training to staff in Knowsley as part of their local Headstart project.

Knowsley Council’s Headstart Lead, Ken Harrison and Headstart Coordinator, Patrick Goodison invited the EFA team to be part of Knowsley’s Headstart project.

From the 5th – 16th January we spent two amazing weeks with a group of 11 staff representing a wide varity of organisations in the Knowsley community to deliver a Train the Trainers course enabling staff to deliver both Parents and Primary EFA programmes.

Special thanks goes to Kelly Hern, Healthwatch Knowsley & EFA Trainer who made us some wonderful cakes to celebrate the end of the course.

Since our initial visit in January, the Knowsley Headstart EFA trainers have been delivering both Primary & Parents’ EFA courses with fantastic feedback, and the EFA team were delighted to be invited back in May to deliver top up training to all the trainers to deliver both YP EFA (for staff working with young people) and Peer EFA (for young people).
