The Emotional First Aid Team have just completed delivery of two cohorts of Primary Emotional First Aid in Plymouth.
The courses were arranged by Ann Honey, Eggbuckland Vale Primary School and supported through the Plymouth Association of Primary Headteachers PAPH.
Ann submitted a bid to the Armed Forces Community Covenant to fund training for staff supporting children and families as part of HMS Heroes. Before the EFA Team began the training, all 30 staff recieved training on the deployment cycle and its impact on children and families. Following this, the aim was to deliver Primary EFA to enable staff to identify the potential distress children may experience and increase staff confidence and capability to intervene and offer support.
The EFA Team delivered two courses to 30 staff from a range of primary schools across Plymouth and were delighted to be presented with cakes on the final day.
